I am doing a search for a company in Rhode Island, started by Brown University alumni that has developed patent-pending meaning-based search technology. They just merged with one of the largest ISPs and are well funded. They are looking for a full-time, permanent Computational Linguist to participate in the collaboration and creation of advanced language tools for Web search and other projects. Immediate projects include: * Develop Page sense disambiguation (PSD) algorithms to improve and augment current methods for disambiguation of web pages * Build a web-based, multi-purpose corpus * Develop Automatic Expansion algorithms -from user-added meanings, automatically update the database; perform hyponym extraction from web-based corpora * Develop single line parser algorithm - pull out the nouns and possibly intentions from a query on the search engine * Develop evaluation methodologies for all algorithms * Create and manage a research team - locate and recruit people who are experts in any of the needed fields If you know of anyone who might be interested or if you would like more information, please give me a call, toll-free, at (877) 465-9570.
