gatesource.com 703-222-6627 http://www.gatesource.com DIRECTOR OF USER EXPERIENCE Location: Cupertino, CA Responsibilities: * Directly manage a core team of user experience architects, knowledge engineers and linguists involved in developing best of breed user experience for customer projects; * Act as the senior knowledge architect for my client, providing the company with overall direction on the creation of user experience templates, taxonomies, and knowledge maps; * Report jointly to CTO and VP of Professional Services; * Define processes and procedures for delivering an effective customer experience in all projects. Qualifications: * Proven management and leadership ability at the team level; * Capable of effective customer interaction; * First-class understanding of usability issues, human computer interaction, of using taxonomies, and classification schemas for the purpose of organizing business content; * Practical experience in AI/natural language processing/information retrieval technologies and awareness of the latest trends in these areas; * Experience in Object-Oriented Modeling (UML); * Hands-on experience building knowledge management systems/ business web sites within complex and dynamic domains; * Excellent understanding of e-commerce and the delivery of content online; * PhD or MS degree in Information/Library science, AI, Linguistics, or Computer Science.
