Junior and Senior positions at Paris 7 (Jussieu) Junior position The Linguistics Department at Universit� Paris 7 - Denis Diderot will hire an associate professor (Maitre de conferencess) in Natural language processing, the ideal candidate must have completed his/her PhD in Linguistics, computer science or cognitive sciences (or completing it before december 00) and have a solid backgroud in both linguists and computer science; an experience in corpus based methods or information retrieval would be a plus; the position will start sept 2001 and comes with tenure. Senior positions The Linguistics Department at Universit� Paris 7 - Denis Diderot expects to make two senior level appointments (Professeur) in the course of academic year 2001, in the following areas: a) Semantics (Lexical Semantics, Formal semantics), b) Romance Linguistics and Linguistic Theory. The ideal candidate will have a phD in linguistics (a thesis and a habilitation for French candidates) and at least 5 year of research and teaching experience at the graduate level. >For all positions in France, the application is in two steps: - the candidate has to go through a qualification procedure at the national level (starting in october) - the candidate has to apply at the university level in january The candidates should be French speaking but not necessarily French.
