Peripheral Positions Conference A reminder that, immediately after the Linguistics Association of Great Britain (LAGB) conference in Durham (7-9th September, 2000), the University of York will host a conference on Peripheral Positions. Full details can be found at the conference website http://www-users.york.ac.uk/~lang7 The conference will kick off with a Plenary Lecture by Jim McCloskey on the evening of Saturday 9th September, followed by a wine reception. Our other plenaries are to be given by Liliane Haegeman, Caroline Heycock/Dora Alexopoulou, Mamoru Saito, and Ianthi Tsimpli. Full details of the programme can be found on the website. Travel from Durham to York is just over an hour by car, and about 45 minutes by train. Details of travel from other destinations can be found on the website. Registration will be 40 pounds sterling and 20 pounds for students and unwaged colleagues.
