The Department of English Education at Kyungpook National University is
one of the best English education departments in South Korea. 180
students (undergraduates: 120, graduates: 60) study at the Department.
They are all top-level students since they were admitted through very
tough and competitive entrance examinations. The Department is looking
for a qualified scholar who meets the following qualifications:
(i) Language: Native Speaker of English.
(ii) Speciality and Degree: TESOL or TEFL(Teaching English as a Foreign
Language). Ph. D. applicants are preferred; masters are also welcome but

courses each semester in TESOL/TEFL as well as other areas of

in-service programs during summer / winter breaks with reasonable extra
pay, and publishing at least one original academic paper in a relevant
major journal.
Teaching English and theories on English education at such a prestigious
university as KNU in South Korea will provide priceless opportunities to
test existing TEFL/TESOL theories but also to develop your own theories.
Especially junior scholars are encouraged to apply for this open-rank
tenure track position. Rank and salary will be commensurate with
experience. However, any successful appointee is guaranteed at least
25,000 (US) dollars for annual salary. What's more, a free apartment
