Question Answering System - Research Staff Member

Our challenge is to develop a system to automatically answer natural
language questions in broad domains, such as industry news. 
A broad-coverage question answering system combines technologies 
from computational linguistics, information retrieval and knowledge 
representation. We are looking for a candidate who is very competent
in one or more of these areas, who can be creative and resourceful 
in order to push the limits of known techniques and advance the 
current state of the art. 

Formal qualifications include:
� Experience in conducting research, evidenced in publications or
 industrial research work
� Strong programming skills for designing and implementing prototypes 
� Ability to transfer prototypes to production is highly desirable 
� Good communication skills and ability to work in a team
� Knowledge of applicable machine learning or AI techniques would be of
 interest.
� Experience with question answering applications would be a great
 advantage.


Education:
Ph.D in Computational Linguistics, Information Retrieval, or related
field.
