Position The Department of Modern Languages at Carnegie Mellon University has a unique opportunity to invite applications for one (1) Visiting Professor of Second Language Acquisition for the Spring Semester 2001. This is a temporary replacement position with an open rank. Assistance with travel may be possible. Responsibilities Includes teaching two (2) courses during the Spring Semester, which will last from approximately January 15 through May 15, and guiding student research as appropriate. The courses will most likely have both advanced undergraduate and graduate students participating. The department would welcome a candidate�s proposing to offer a course in a personal area of specialization. Requirements Ph.D. in second language acquisition, applied linguistics, or a relevant area of linguistics; a strong publication and research record; and evidence of effective university teaching.
