Spanish linguistics, rank open, tenure track, University of New Mexico, beginning Fall 2001. Seek scholar to play a leadership role in graduate and undergraduate teaching and guidance of graduate student research. Minimal qualifications include (1) Ph.D. in Spanish linguistics at time of application, (2) specialization in phonology or syntax, (3) established record of research and publication, (4) evidence of excellence in teaching, and (5) native or near-native fluency in Spanish. Preferred qualifications include (a) secondary fields in syntax, phonology, discourse analysis, semantics, or Portuguese linguistics, (b) interest in Spanish of the U.S. Southwest. Candidates must send a letter of interest, CV, samples of scholarship, teaching evaluations, and three letters of reference.
