University of York, UK Department of Psychology Postdoctoral Research Position--Cognitive Psychology The above post is available for up to 5 years on an MRC-funded project working with Dr. Gareth Gaskell. The research will investigate the processes involved in learning and recognising spoken words. You will be involved in planning, executing and analysing experiments using a variety of experimental methods. Demonstrated ability in the design and analysis of cognitive psychology experiments is essential, and computer skills, such as use of spreadsheets, statistical applications and experimental software will also be of benefit. Ideally, you will have experience of the issues and techniques relevant to speech perception research. The position is available at the postdoctoral level, but applicants with a good first degree and relevant research experience are also invited to apply. The appointment is available from 1 November 2000 or as soon as possible thereafter. Salary will be up to 18,731 GBP pa.
