once again I have some special-needs students in my hebrew classes. but one young lady puzzles me. she is bright, can do everything and memorize everthing... except the inflectional system. she can handle derivational hebrew verb-binyanim, she can spot affixes, but she is completely lost with person, gender, number. her success rate is equivalent to random guessing. I was wondering if people working with language deficits might be able to help me with this student: suggestions, practical tips, literature, whatever: all would be appreciated. what is the state of the art these days in tense/mood interaction? is there something in the formal-semantic/tense-logical ballpark to help with the formal representation of the past subjunctive in a coherent framework?
