The positions will be located on the Microsoft central campus in Redmond, Washington, USA. The NLP Research group began in 1991, and has grown to include 7 languages, all of which have well-developed broad coverage analysis components. The grammarian's primary responsibilities will be to collaborate with a group of researchers (within the context of a German team) on the development of linguistic modules inside the systems. These currently include an analysis grammar, a logical form component and an experimental generation module. The grammarian's qualifications should include experience in linguistic research, software development and natural language processing; a flexible approach to linguistic theory; and an advanced degree in linguistics, or a closely related discipline. Native proficiency in the language of choice is assumed. Familiarity with generation is a plus.
