At the risk of sounding like a commercial, let me recommend the word processor Notabene in its Lingua Work Station incarnation. It is designed for scholars who routinely work in any European language that uses the Roman alphabet in any incarnation, as well as Greek, Cyrillic and Hebrew. Each language is available with a single keystroke (including direction reversal in the same line for Hebrew), and Ancient Greek (including digamma) is supported. It comes with a powerful integrated bibliography program and an academically-oriented database program. It's quite expensive, and has a few bugs still needing to be worked out, but it also has a strong and friendly independent listserv to help newbies. You can find it at www.notabene.com. I am not connected with them at all, except as a user since 1985. Geoff Nathan Geoffrey S.
