Applicants should have a Ph.D in a relevant field and show evidence of a commitment to excellence in teaching. While AUS emphasizes undergraduate teaching, retention and promotion require that faculty publish peer reviewed research. Initial contracts are normally for a period of two years and are renewable. Rank will be determined by previous employment history. Faculty at AUS receive tax free competitive pay and an attractive benefits package that includes free on campus furnished housing and utilities, home leave roundtrip tickets for faculty and their resident dependents between academic years, generous educational allowance for up to two children from grade one through four years of higher education, medical insurance and dental plan, yearly indemnity pay and other benefits.
