SEMINAR ON SPOKEN BASQUE : december 2000, the 13th (wednesday) and 14th (thursday), in the faculty of Bayonne. We are happy to announce that IKER, research unity of the CNRS (UMR 5478) in Bayonne and AHOLAB, laboratory of the Engineering School in Bilbao (University of the Basque Country) organise in Bayonne a seminar on "Research on Basque pronounciation : state of the art and future ways". It will be held on december 2000, the 13th (wednesday) and 14th (thursday). The language of the seminar will be Euskara (Basque language). The seminar is open to anybody interested. The goal of the seminar is to underline the importance that voice technologies will take in to morrow's world. The objective is to make such ideas more popular in the transboarder linguistics students community and to push more people towards this kind of research.
