The graduate programme ("Graduiertenkolleg", GK) in linguistics at the
University of Frankfurt/Main offers two post-doc positions and 8
doctoral research grants. The GK has as its focus of research
"Sentence types: variation and interpretation" and will start on April
1, 2001.

The role of the postdocs in the GK is to facilitate cross-discipline
doctoral research. Postdocs will be expected to coordinate and
support dissertation projects in more than one sub-discipline. One
postdoctoral position is reserved for "Syntax/Typology" research.
Applicants for this position should have significant expertise in both
the formal theory of grammar and in language typology. The other
position is for "Semantics/pragmatics". Again applicants for this
position should have significant expertise in both formal semantics
and pragmatics.

Information (in German) about the sub-projects of the graduate
programme can be found on the internet under
http://www.rz.uni-frankfurt.de/FB/fb10/grad_koll/.

graduate programme, Prof. Dr. G. Grewendorf, Institut fr Deutsche
Sprache und Literatur II, Universitt Frankfurt, Grfstr. 76,
