Assistant Professor of Spanish Linguistics/Applied Linguistics, University of Alabama Tenure-Track Professor, beginning August 2001, with Ph.D. in hand by date of hire. Native or near-native fluency in Spanish required. Expertise in Spanish linguistics and second language acquisition required. Must present evidence of excellence in teaching and committment to research and publication. Coordinate beginning and intermediate Spanish language programs and train graduate teaching assistants. Ability to teach at both undergraduate and graduate levels in Spanish and to contribute to graduate-level Applied Linguistics Track. Experience with multi-media and computer-assisted instruction desirable. Major research interest in linguistics and/or second language acquisition.
