Research Studentship Faculty of Languages and European Studies Available: PhD research studentship (up to 3 years) from 1 April 2000 in contemporary European Studies (including Linguistics). Annual bursary: �6,000 (incl. up to 4 hrs/week teaching). You will need a sound first degree (normally in Humanities, Social Science /Linguistics) and mastery of at least one foreign language; an additional initial postgraduate qualification would be highly desirable. Possible areas of investigation (nation-specific, cross-national, or European): social and political cultures (incl. some aspects of French and German literature), film and media, regional studies (incl. business culture), linguistics.
