There is a new search engine company (start up phase) called "Thrownet" at http://www.thrownet.com which is advertising for linguists and computational linguists who can provide a one question one response functionality for a search engine front end. Does anyone know what technologies they are using (if this is public information)? The last I heard they were looking at the Franklin parser out of New Jersey. For those of you who are interested they seem to be offering a lot of jobs. Phil Bralich Philip A. For those who are teaching a course in LFG or an "alternative" introduction to formal syntax at the graduate/advanced undergraduate level, I am making a pre-final draft of my new book _Lexical-Functional Syntax_ available at my website for a short time prior to publication by Blackwell (Fall 2000): http://www-lfg.stanford.edu/bresnan/download.html Joan Bresnan *---------------------------------------- ______ __o __o Joan Bresnan bresnanMail to author|Respond to list|Read more issues|LINGUIST home page|Top of issuestanford.edu ______ _`\<,_ _`\<,_ *---------------------------------------- ______ (*)/ (*) (*)/ (*)
