Message 2: Italian Syllable Structure

Subject: Italian Syllable Structure
I am looking for information on Italian syllable structure,
specifically controversies regarding nuclear makeup (permissibility of
diphthongs) and geminates (parsing of first segment in coda of
syllable 1 or not). Any info on recent work in these areas would be
appreciated, and I'll post a summary of the responses.
Thank you,
Christina Villafana
