 Applications are invited for our
 2000-01 Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) studentship
 for an MA in Language Acquisition.
 Candidates must have been resident in the European Union
 for at least the past 3 years
 and hold, or expect to hold, by October 2000, a minimum of
 an upper second class honours undergraduate degree or the equivalent.

 We also offer an MA degree in Theoretical Linguistics
 (funding for which is available for EU citizens
 from the Arts and Humanities Research Board (AHRB))
 as well as the following 8 MA degrees in Applied Linguistics:

 MA in Applied Linguistics

 MA in Applied Linguistics with Reference to:
 ELT
 ESP
 ESOL
 Translation
 ELT and Materials Development
 ELT, CALL and Educational Technology
 FLT (Arabic, French, German, Japanese or Spanish)

 All MA degrees can be completed in
 9 months//1 year, on a full-time basis
 up to 2 years, on a part-time basis
 up to 3 years, on full-time discontinuous enrollment

 The Department of Linguistics and English Language
 also awards the PhD in the areas of
 Applied Linguistics
 Language Acquisition
 Theoretical Linguistics.
 EU candidates may apply for ESRC or AHRB funding;
 non-EU candidates may apply for Overseas Research Studentships.
