(http://www.simpli.com) seeks a technically-oriented librarian or
information scientist with a strong cataloging background for the
position of Chief Knowledge Engineer. We have a knowledge base and
the Chief Knowledge Engineer will help organize the current
information and gather more. This position provides leadership of a
growing staff of editors, scientists and programmers.

Qualifications:

MLS from an ALA-accredited program; 2 years' cataloging experience in
an online environment. Knowledge of traditional cataloging tools
(OCLC, AACR2, MeSh, MARC and LC). Knowledge of linguistics,
vocabulary of database design, including relational and flat
structures, thesaurus and retrieval techniques. Knowledge of
cataloging trends. Demonstrated proficiency in online search and
retrieval. Passion for the Web. Willingness to adapt and create new
classification schemes. Supervisory experience. Excellent planning,
analytical, oral and written communication skills. Ability to work
cooperatively in a collaborative and continuously changing
environment.
