Visiting Professor of Japanese in the Department of Foreign Languages and
Literatures


The position is one-year replacement appointment for the academic year
2000-2001. Applications are exprected to have a Ph.D. in Japanese at
the time of application. Native or near-native fluency in both
Japanese and English, college-level teaching experience, and evidence
of scholarly research are required. Duties will include teaching three
courses per semester in beginning, intermediate, and conversational
Japanese (spring 2001) or (team-teaching) East Asian civilization
(fall 2000), performing service, as appropriate, in the East Asian
Language Section and the Department, and conducting research in
area(s) of specialization.

filled. Effective date of appointment is 16 August 2000. Send letter
