Box 3045, University of Victoria Victoria British Columbia V8W 3P4 Canada UNIVERSITY OF VICTORIA DEPARTMENT OF LINGUISTICS SYNTAX LIMITED TERM POSITION The Department of Linguistics, University of Victoria, invites applications for an eight-month limited term position in syntax at the rank of Assistant Professor, effective 1 September 2001. Qualifications: Ph.D. in Linguistics with a strong commitment to research. The successful candidate will teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels and be involved in graduate student supervision. A research focus on Native languages or languages of the Pacific Rim is particularly relevant to our programs. Teaching experience is preferred. Teaching requirement: one graduate syntax course and four undergraduate courses, at least two of them in syntax. Deadline for application: 31 May 2001.
