Dear LINGUIST Subscribers, A few weeks ago we announced our plan to form an Advisory Board and asked for volunteers from you, our readers. We had no idea that we would get such a wonderful response. We have been overwhelmed and gratified-- not only by the number of people willing to help LINGUIST, but also by the lovely messages that many of you wrote. We will announce the panel by the end of the first week of June, but we want to take this opportunity to thank all of you who responded. You may have noticed a new link near the top of our homepage, offering access to the linguistics journal, Glot International. Published ten times per year, each issue of Glot provides scholarly articles addressing current topics in research, columns written by Elan Dresher in Toronto and Neil Smith in London, Squibs (short, entertaining articles), dissertation summaries and specialist reviews, book reviews, hardware and software developments, as well as interviews, conference proceedings, letters, and cartoons. This journal will be available exclusively through Linguist List Plus in July, but until then you may preview new issues simply by clicking on the link and registering to do so. And if you go to: http://wip.blackwellpublishers.co.uk/llplus and register to receive notice when the LL+ subscription site has been activated, your subscription to LL+ will entitle you to receive Glot International for one year. For those of you who missed the previous announcement, LL+ is a new service, established in collaboration with Blackwell Publishing, which will give you, in addition to the subscription to Glot International mentioned above, *Individual access to Linguistics Abstracts Online--the searchable database of over 20,000 article abstracts, working papers, and conference proceedings. *The Linguist's Bookstore at Blackwell Publishing--offering a 30% discount on all Blackwell books and a 20% discount on Blackwell linguistics journals. And with your subscription, you'll be supporting LINGUIST and the linguistics community, as Blackwell has generously agreed to donate 20% of each subscription to LINGUIST List. For more details, see LINGUIST 12.1324. We hope you will find this to be a valuable service, and of course, we welcome your comments. Once again, we thank you for your support and kind words. Best regards, LINGUISTMail to author|Respond to list|Read more issues|LINGUIST home page|Top of issue
