Tenure-track. 2/2 load guaranteed during first two years; then 3/3
with opportunities for reduction to 3/2. Teach graduate and
undergraduate courses in general linguistics, syntax, and history of
English, with opportunity to develop additional courses in
linguistics. Area of research specialization in linguistics is open.

The Department of English serves its majors, minors, and students
obtaining teaching certification with programs in literary studies,
creative writing, rhetoric, and technical communication and cooperates
in graduate and undergraduate interdisciplinary programs in
linguistics. A brand new building (opening Fall 2002) provides
state-of-the-art classrooms and offices.
