Position in Semantics


The Department of Linguistics, University of Ottawa, invites
applications for a Tenure track position in semantics at the Assistant
Professor -possibly Associate Professor - level, commencing July 1,
2002. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in linguistics or related
discipline with evidence of strong research potential. Candidates
should be familiar with recent developments in formal semantic theory
and show a commitment to additional areas of linguistics. Expertise in
computational linguistics would be an asset. The candidate will be
expected to teach courses and supervise students in both English and
French at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Applicants should
submit a c.v. and arrange for three (3) letters of recommendation to

professeur(e) adjoint(e) - �ventuellement de professeur(e) agr�g�(e) - en
s�mantique, menant � la permanence, d�butant le 1er juillet 2002. Les
candidats doivent d�tenir un doctorat en linguistique ou dans une discipline
connexe et avoir d�montr� un fort potentiel de recherche. Une connaissance
des d�veloppements r�cents en th�orie de s�mantique formelle est exig�e ainsi
qu'un inter�t confirm� pour d'autres domaines de la linguistique. Une
expertise en linguistique computationnelle serait un atout. Le (la)
candidat(e) devra pouvoir enseigner et encadrer les �tudiant(e)s en anglais
et en fran�ais au niveau du baccalaur�at et des �tudes sup�rieures. Pri�re de
