Generalist in the field of Spanish language. Expertise in teaching all levels of Spanish language from Spanish I to Advanced Composition. Expertise in foreign language methodology in the elementary schools desirable; experience in coordinating student teachers. Candidate is expected to engage in scholarly and professional activities and to be actively involved in departmental functions. Must be willing to teach evenings and weekends. Recent successful teaching experience with diverse and multi-ethnic students desirable. Computer expertise for interfacing with new programs helpful. Ph.D. in hand; demonstrated success in teaching and scholarship. Excellent bilingual skills necessary. Ability to teach Portuguese a plus.
