Sub-specialization is desirable in one or more of the following areas: computational semantics, corpus linguistics, computational language documentation, cognitive science. The position begins on September 1, 2002 and is contingent on funding. Duties include (a) Teaching of undergraduate and graduate courses; (b) Direction of thesis and dissertation research; (c) Original research and publication; (d) Directorship of the Department of Linguistics Computational Linguistics Laboratory. The candidate must demonstrate potential for excellence and productivity in all four areas. PhD in Linguistics or Computer Science is required by August 20, 2002.
