ARIZONA STATE UNIVERSITY
UNIVERSITY GRADUATE SCHOLARS AWARD
FRENCH GRADUATE STUDIES

The Program of Graduate Studies in French at Arizona State University
has the possibility of offering two University Graduate Scholars Awards
along with teaching assistantships to outstanding students wishing to
pursue a Master of Arts degree in French. Unlike many other M.A.
programs in the United States, we offer numerous courses in linguistics,
translation, and francophone literature and culture in addition to a
full complement of courses in French literature. I would appreciate it
if you could nominate your best students for these awards. Please feel
free to share this information with appropriate colleagues. For further
information, you may visit our web site at <www.asu.edu/clas/dll/fre>.
It is the policy of Arizona State University to provide equal
opportunity through affirmative action in employment and educational
programs and activities. Thus we welcome nominations of students from
underrepresented populations.

To facilitate the nomination process, I am enclosing a nomination form
which can be returned to me either by fax or mail. Feel free to make as
many copies of this form if you wish to nominate more than one student.
You may also send the information electronically to
<frederic.canovasasu.edu>. Deadline for nominations is February 20,
2001.

Thank you very much for your nomination. If you and/or your nominees
have further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,

Frdric Canovas
Director of Graduate Studies in French
