Candidates should have a commitment to undergraduate teaching in a small liberal arts college where there is an emphasis on high-quality instruction. Candidates will be expected to teach core courses in syntax and semantics, and have a teaching interest in other areas, for example morphology, languages of the world, field methods, language acquisition, psycholinguistics or computational linguistics. He or she should have a broad intellectual engagement with the field of linguistics, and be interested in relating his/her research to cognate fields such as philosophy, computer science and/or psychology. He or she will be part of an active cognitive science research group, and will be expected to share in the teaching of the introduction to cognitive science course. Preference will be given to candidates who have finished the PhD and who have teaching experience. Pomona College is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
