Qs: Text/Lang & Brain, Hale Review of Lefebvre

We'd like to remind readers that the responses to queries are usually best posted to the individual asking the question. That individual is then strongly encouraged to post a summary to the list. This policy was instituted to help control the huge volume of mail on LINGUIST; so we would appreciate your cooperating with it whenever it seems appropriate. In addition to posting a summary, we'd like to remind people that it is usually a good idea to personally thank those individuals who have taken the trouble to respond to the query.

Dear Linguists,

I'm planning to teach a low level undergraduate course on Language and
the Brain in the spring. For many students, this will be their first
introduction to either linguistics or neuroscience. Can anyone
recommend good readings, perhaps some from the popular press, or a good
textbook for this kind of a course? I'll send a summary to the list.

Dear colleagues,

I'm trying to locate a book review by the late Ken Hale of Claire
Lefebvre's _Creole Genesis and the Acquisition of
Grammar_. Could anyone tell me where and when this review was
published? Please reply directly to me <>.

Many thanks.
