Tenure-Track Job Opening for Associate Professor
 Center for Language Research
 University of Aizu, Japan

Starting date: April 1, 2002

Qualifications: Ph.D. in TESL/TEFL/Applied Linguistics or a related
field; a native English speaker with at least three years' experience
in TESL/TEFL or a related field; ability to teach English courses in
academic English and academic/technical writing that are appropriate
for students majoring in computer science and computer engineering;
experience with computer-based language instruction.

Duties: Teaching 4-5 classes per semester (1 class is 90 minutes per
week); developing course materials; participating in group projects;
serving on committees; conducting research; and carrying out other
university-related responsibilities.

Salary: Based on the Fukushima Prefecture Salary Scale for Public
Employees.

Benefits: Subsidized furnished housing; airfare and shipping; etc.

teaching experience); copies of three recently published papers; three
letters of recommendation; graduate school transcripts; and the

(1) a proposal for achieving effective results in English education
using computers; 
(2) evidence of effective results through your teaching experience;

(4) evidence of your experience using computers; 
(5) description of your research interests.
