Ed Battistella and I invite all linguists who are also administrators to a 
join us at the San Francisco LSA meeting for an informal meeting and 
discussion about the interaction (if there is any!) of our academic field 
and our administrative work. Please check the latest LSA bulletin for the 
time and place of this gathering. Starting this week, I will be sending 
out a brief (promise - VERY brief) questionnaire on administrative careers 
for linguists to anyone who contacts me at my e-mail address (mew1siu.edu 
- that's a "one" before the ). The responses will help start the 
conversation when we meet next month.

Thanks for your responses, both to the questionnaire and to the invitation 
to talk at the LSA.
