Workshop Announcement: New Frontiers in Chinese Psycholinguistics University of California, Santa Barbara July 13-15, 2001 Dear Colleagues, As many of you know, the 2001 Summer Linguistic Institute will be held at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Given the Institute's focus on linguistic diversity and Pacific Rim languages, we are organizing a 3-day workshop entitled "New Frontiers in Psycholinguistic Studies of Chinese". The workshop is scheduled to take place on July 13-15, supported by the National Science Foundation (the Linguistics and the Child Learning and Development Programs). Details about the workshop and invited speakers can be found on the world-wide-web at: http://cogsci.richmond.edu/cogsinica/ucsb_workshop.html The workshop will also serve as a forum to facilitate the compilation and publication of the Handbook of Chinese Psycholinguistics, along with the Handbook of Japanese Psycholinguistics and Handbook of Korean Psycholinguistics. Linguists and psycholinguists who have expertise in the relevant areas are invited to contribute to the handbooks. The books will contain articles to introduce critical areas of research in psycholinguistic studies of Chinese, Japanese, and Korean. If you would like to participate in discussions during the workshop or to contribute to the handbooks, please check our website for details or email pliMail to author|Respond to list|Read more issues|LINGUIST home page|Top of issuerichmond.edu.
