Dialogue Management, Performance Modeling and Automatic Adaptation in Multi-Modal and Spoken Dialogue Systems The spoken dialogue research group at AT&T Labs research has a one year renewable research position starting Spring/Summer 2001. Research foci in multi-modal and spoken dialogue management includes performance modeling and evaluation, automatic training and adaptation, natural language generation, natural language understanding, multi-modal parsing and integration, and multimodal dialogue management. Requirements: Ph.D. or M.S. in a research area related to natural language processing or dialogue systems. Interest and experience in empirical methods of research, user interfaces, machine learning, or performance modeling are a plus. Salary dependent on experience. Location: AT&T Labs Research is located in Florham Park, New Jersey, about an hour by train from New York City. The successful candidate will join a team of researchers working closely together on techniques for the next generation of dialogue systems.
