Dear Linguist List, Does anyone know if John F. Carrington, author of 'Talking Drums of Africa' (1949) and 'A Comparative Study of some Central African Gong-Languages' (1949) is still alive, and if so, how he can be reached? Thanks, Ani Patel - Aniruddh D. Hello, I am working on a senior thesis and I need some information about word frequency in French. Specifically, I am looking for a database with frequency information of French words (ideally, both lemma frequency and wordform frequency), preferably also including syntactic category information. (A French version of the CELEX databases would be perfect for my purposes.) If you have any ideas of where I might find such a resource, please reply directly to me at clinkenbMail to author|Respond to list|Read more issues|LINGUIST home page|Top of issuefas.harvard.edu. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thank you very much. Sincerely, Liz Clinkenbeard ******************************* Elizabeth L. Clinkenbeard 344 Adams Mail Ctr Cambridge MA 02138 email: clinkenb
