We are pleased to complete information you about the IULATERM activities organised by the Institut Universitari de Ling��stica Aplicada (IULA) of the Universitat Pompeu Fabra for summer 2001. III INTERNATIONAL SUMMER SCHOOL OF TERMINOLOGY Barcelona - Spain ,July, 2-6, 2001 The Internacional Summer School of Terminology is an introductory course on terminology addressed to students and young researchers interested in this scientific discipline. The main goal of this summer course is to present the Communicative Theory of Terminology, mainly characterised by a linguistic approach gathering notions, such as: terminological variation harmonisation, term usage in texts, terminological application design, linguistic engineering for terminological work and research. The summer course, organised by the IULATERM professors, comprises 32 hours. It includes theoretical and methodological sessions and seminarss (morning) and workshops (afternoon). Courses will be given in Spanish. Attention potential conference and workshop organizers: The 2003 LSA Institute will be held in East Lansing, Michigan at Michigan State University, June 30 - August 8, 2003. The focus of the 2003 Institute is language, mind, and society, and more than 80 courses taught by leading scholars will be offered. Several co-occurring events have already been scheduled, including the Annual Meeting of the Cognitive Science Society, which will be held in conjunction with the Institute July 18-20, 2003.
