It comprises most of the linguistic research which is being carried out within the Faculty of Arts. A considerable number of the researchers participate in the Center for Behavioral and Cognitive Neurosciences (BCN), a local graduate school that brings together research from different faculties of the University of Groningen. CLCG has vacancies for two PhD positions in the field of Neurolinguistics, especially Aphasiology, in a project called: The role of the verb in Dutch during online spoken language processing and spoken production. Two PhD positions: Vacancy number 201061: a vacancy for a project called The role of the verb in sentence processing: gap-filling and verb movement. Vacancy number 201062: a vacancy for a project called The role of the verb in sentence processing: gap-filling in structurally ambiguous sentences. Functions: The task of these positions is to carry out a PhD project leading to a doctoral dissertation. See "What is expected from a graduate student" for a sketch of graduate study at the CLCG. Candidates are invited to describe how they would hope to contribute to the projects. Your profile: - graduated in Psycho- or Neurolinguistics or Psychology, with an accent on language, cognitive or neuro-psychology - preferably research experience in the relevant field - the ability to work independent - excellent record of undergraduate study - willing to learn Dutch Rijksuniversiteit Groningen offers the recipient of graduate student stipends a salary beginning at gross NLG 3.242 (EUR 1.473) per month in the first year (with an allowance of NLG 187,-) and rising to NLG 4.362 (EUR 1.982) in the last year. Graduate student fellows receive a contract for one year extendible for three further years subject to evaluation after one. The research project has to lead to a PhD dissertation.
