Dear Subscribers, As many of you know, in addition to our mailing list, we have a website, http://linguistlist.org/ . On this page you will find searchable, archived editions of all LINGUIST issues since its inception in December of 1990. This site also has over 2,000 pages of data, most of which are linked to hundreds of other linguistic and linguistics-related websites. Our main site receives over 300,000 hits per week. Near the top of the LINGUIST homepage is a category devoted to The Profession. Here you will find lists of Conferences, Linguistic Associations, Funding Sources, and Linguistic Programs, as well as a comprehensive Directory of Linguists and their Personal Pages. In addition, you will find a link to all Job postings, complete with search capability, and the newly instituted Jobs Information page. And the recently added link to the searchable archive of 80 additional linguistic mailing lists provides a wealth of other linguistic sources. Under the heading, Research and Research Support, you will find linguistic papers, bibliographies, and projects. There is also the popular Dissertation Abstracts page; it too is quickly and comprehensively searchable. In the Publications category, we have links to Book Announcements and Reviews, Journals, and Publishers. The Pedagogy section provides links to Classes and Syllabi, as well as ESL and EFL materials. There is a Language Resource page, which houses a wealth of information about Languages and Language Families, as well as links to hundreds of online Dictionaries. Our Computer Support pages offer links to fonts, including numerous IPA fonts, as well as to the truly valuable Software page. Rounding out our website is the popular Ask-a-Linguist service, and The LINGUIST Cookbook, "Everything You Ever Wanted to Know about Food... A Feastschrift in Honor of Jim McCawley", with recipes contributed by linguists from all over the world ( http://linguistlist.org/cookbook/ ). The LINGUIST website is becoming a truly comprehensive, truly international archive of electronic information and meta-information. But we need your help to see it through to completion. In this year's fund drive, our goal is $40,000. Our generous contributors have given a grand total of $21,556 to date; their names appear at the bottom of this message. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to one and all. But, we aren't there yet; we still have to raise $18,444. If you can help, we'd love to hear from you. There are three convenient methods by which you can make your donation to LINGUIST. You can donate via our secure credit card form at: http://linguistlist.org/donation-form.html or by sending your check to: The LINGUIST Editorial Support Fund Dept. of English Eastern Michigan U. Ypsilanti, MI USA 48197 Or you can simply hit "Reply" to this message, make a pledge by email, and send your check later. Then we will be able to list you immediately as one of our donors; and we may be able to reach our goal (and halt these Fund Drive messages) a bit earlier. As a 501(c)3 organization, LINGUIST qualifies for corporate donation-matching programs; and, of course, your donation is tax deductible. In return for a donation of $25 or more, we would like to send you a snazzy, dark blue LINGUIST T-shirt or sweatshirt. Go to http://linguistlist.org/funddrive.html for styles and prices, as well as photos of our fashion-conscious staff modeling this oh-so-elegant casual attire! Please remember to include your snail-mail address, along with your size preference with your check or e-mail pledge. And don't forget to find the "Singing Pig" on the LINGUIST Home Page and click for our sophisticated production, "The LINGUIST Fund Drive Experience"! Once again thank you all for your continued support of LINGUIST.
