The faculty has a vacancy for a full-time: Ph.D. student for the project "Synchronic register variation in mono- and bilingual Turkish" Vacancy number 810.2002.03 Babylon, Center for studies of Multilingualism in the multicultural Society offers a 4-year position for a Ph.D. student as part of the project "Synchronic register variation in mono- and bilingual Turkish". The project focuses on variation in Turkish as it is spoken in Turkey and by the bilingual immigrant community in Holland. Tasks consist of building up a corpus of natural spoken Turkish, and analyzing selected aspects, in close cooperation with the principal investigator and a research assistant. Candidates must have a sound knowledge of Turkish and possess a Masters diploma that testifies to an affinity with the fields of sociolinguistics and/or corpus linguistics.
