The Department of English Language and Literature at University
College London wishes to appoint a lecturer in Modern English Language
with appropriate expertise in (descriptive) grammar/syntax and (some
knowledge of) the history of the language. The Department is a
Department of English Language and Literature, and the successful
candidate will be expected to make some contribution to the teaching
of literature. The UCL English Department was awarded an "Excellent"
grade in the 1994 Teaching Quality Assessment, and a 5*A in the 1996
and the 2002 Research Assessment Exercise. Applicants should send
SEVEN copies of their CV together with the names and contact details

be on the Lecturer A scale (GBP20,470 - GBP24,435 plus GBP2,134 per
annum London Allowance).
