The Department is a Department of English Language and Literature, and the successful candidate will be expected to make some contribution to the teaching of literature. The UCL English Department was awarded an "Excellent" grade in the 1994 Teaching Quality Assessment, and a 5*A in the 1996 and the 2002 Research Assessment Exercise.
