We are pleased to announce the 38th Annual Meeting of the Chicago Linguistics Society, which will take place this week, April 25-27, 2002 on the University of Chicago campus. This year the conference features panels on: Indigenous Languages of Latin America (Thursday April 25) Invited speakers: John Haviland, John Lucy, Bruce Mannheim Subsymbolic Approaches to Language (Friday April 26) Invited speakers: Jeff Elman, Brian MacWhinney Negation and Polarity (Saturday April 27) Invited speakers: Larry Horn, Anastasia Giannakidou, Bill Ladusaw The Main Session will feature talks by John Ohala and Ellen Prince. In addition, nearly 80 submitted presentations are included in this year's program.
