SYNTAX-SEMANTICS RESEARCHER AT TUEBINGEN, GERMANY Project B12 of the SFB 441 is looking to hire a full-time researcher investigating the syntax-semantics interface. The candidate would join a team led by Arnim von Stechow and Wolfgang Sternefeld and including Orin Percus and Janina Rado. The scientific goal of the project is to investigate uses of variables in natural language. We're looking for a candidate that brings her/his own research agenda to the project, and can relate this to the questions set out in the project proposal. Willingness to teach one course per semester would be a plus. Teaching can be in English. Starting date for the appointment should be between September 1st 2002 and January 1st 2003. The Ph.D. must be completed at the time of appointment. In any case, the appointment will be until the end of 2004. Remuneration depends on age and family status according to the BAT IIa payscale in the German system. For a single 30-year old pretax salary would be about 40.000 Euro/year. Furthermore, limited funds for conference travel and office supplies are available.
