Watson Research Center, LMT Group, Yorktown, New York, has immediate openings for two highly skilled computational linguists who are native speakers of a Latin American variety of Spanish. They will join a multiyear project aimed at significantly raising the quality of machine translation of English to Spanish, working closely with the R&D team on IBM's premier translation product: http://www-3.ibm.com/pvc/products/voice/translation_server.shtml Successful candidates should have completed graduate work in computational linguistics or linguistics -- Master's or Ph.D. degree required, and Ph.D. preferred -- and should be able to express linguistic ideas and generalizations formally in a computational linguistic system.
