University or Organization: East Tennessee State University Rank of Job: Assistant Professor Specialty Areas Required: TESL/Applied Linguistics Description: East Tennessee State University, located in the Appalachian Mountain region, invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL)/Applied Linguistics. The successful candidate will teach graduate courses in a newly proposed M.A. TESL program, including TESL theory and methodology, second/foreign language acquisition, and language testing. Experience in secondary teaching also important. Twelve-hour teaching load will include linguistics courses at the graduate and undergraduate level, freshman composition for international students, and sophomore literature courses. Other responsibilities include research, service and advising. Ph.D. required.
