Call for papers on Academic Interaction The first issue of the Journal of Asian Pacific Communication (JAPC) in 2003 will be on Academic Interaction from both cross-cultural and intercultural perspectives and will be concerned principally with contexts of study abroad. It is expected that the issue will include papers covering L1 and L2 students' use of electronic technology from a language management perspective, students integration of sources into their written texts, L1 and L2 argumentation, Japanese exchange students in Australia, and communication networks and second language acquisition. As a number of papers will deal with Australian and Japanese students in an Australian context, papers covering other countries and groups are especially invited. Researchers who are interested in submitting a paper that fits in with the theme of academic interaction are invited to send their paper to: Associate Professor Helen Marriott (special issue editor) by 1 December, 2002. I would appreciate knowing in advance the title of possible papers and expected submission dates. Please send any enquiries relating to this issue to me at Helen.MarriottMail to author|Respond to list|Read more issues|LINGUIST home page|Top of issuearts.monash.edu.au Address for papers: Associate Professor Helen Marriott School of Languages, Cultures and Linguistics POBox 11A, Monash University, Victoria 3800, AUSTRALIA The Managing Editor of JAPC is Dr Herbert D.
