University or Organization: Indiana University Rank of Job: Assistant Professor Specialty Areas Required: Applied Linguistics Required Language(s): French (FRN) Description: Department of French & Italian, Indiana University Assistant Professor of French Linguistics To begin August 2003 Tenure-track assistant professor position available August 2003 for a specialist in applied linguistics/second language acquisition. Duties include teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in French linguistics and undergraduate French language courses, as well as working with the basic language program's full-time coordinator. Ph.D. specialization in any of the fields of applied linguistics is required: for example, language acquisition, phonology/phonetics, sociolinguistics, pragmatics, discourse and text analysis. Near-native proficiency in French is essential, and experience in the supervision of French instruction, development of teaching materials, and the use of technology for language teaching is highly desirable.
