Radio 4 is broadcasting a series which, in its own words, 'examines
the extent of the threat to the world's linguistic diversity'. In the
first programme (to be broadcast on Wednesday 25th September at 11.00
am GMT)the journalist Gavin Esler travels to Australia 'where 90 per
cent of the indigenous languages have already been lost'.
