''La Opini�n'', a Spanish-language newspaper in southern California,
has a regular column on language-related matters, called ''En la
cresta de la lengua''. Yesterday's article, ''Linguistas en el
estrado'' (page 2B, October 6, 2002) describes the role of linguistics
in legal matters. This particular article doesn't seem to be online,
but some of the previous columns can be found at the newspaper's
