University or Organization: University of South Florida Rank of Job: Assistant Professor Specialty Areas: Anthropological Linguistics, applied anthropology Description: The University of South Florida, Department of Anthropology, invites applications for a nine-month tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Sociolinguistics, beginning August 2003. The successful applicant must possess a Ph.D. in anthropology at the time of appointment and must be prepared to teach a four-field introductory anthropology survey, a junior-level survey of anthropological linguistics, and senior-level and graduate electives in a specialty area. Current and/or projected research in some aspect of applied anthropological linguistics is required; geographic area is open. Willingness to develop cooperative teaching and research with other programs at U.S.F. is highly desirable. Position contingent on final approval of funding. Salary negotiable.
